Instruments

Minimally invasive interventions require special tools, which must have, for their very small size a variety of features to be of value for the surgeon. In addition to the tool requirements in terms of their mechanical properties and various functionalities, their exact positioning and intuitive control of the imaging apparatus needs to be challenged.

To increase established therapeutic procedures in quality and efficiency and to enable new therapeutic approaches, the Research Campus STIMULATE strives to the development of new tools and the extension of existing functionalities. In the project "tools" is eg. market research carried out which forms the basis for the instrument definition and conception methods. Functionalities are tested and optimized using simulations and demonstrators.
