Living and working in the “Ottostadt” Magdeburg

The state capital of Saxony-Anhalt is not only an important location of science with a remarkable scientific and research infrastructure, but also has to offer a lot of culture and countryside. The city located at the river Elbe is one of the greenest cities in Europe. Some of the most popular parks are the Elbauenpark, the city park "Rotehorn" and the Klosterbergegarten. Cultural highlights are, amongst others, the cathedral "St. Maurice and St Catherine "and the Monastery of Our Lady. Among the historical sights are also many modern attractions such as the Magdeburg waterway intersection with the longest canal bridge in the world or the Green Citadel of Magdeburg, the largest single building of the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
