The MRI Laboratory, which is available exclusively for research purposes, is equipped with a clinical Siemens MAGNETOM Skyra 3T MRI with a bore of 70 cm (big bore) and a short magnet and is therefore ideally suited for image-guided interventions. This scanner is used for the development and evaluation of minimally invasive medical technology under clinically relevant conditions as well as for professional training of physicians and assistant medical technicians. The operation of the lab without patients enables the reliable planning and execution of studies and trials, from the basics through phantoms to animal models. This kind of infrastructure is also unique in Germany.
