INKA "Embedded": market-oriented joint project: "Modular assembly of multifunctional therapeutic tools"

The market-oriented project "Modular assembly of multifunctional therapeutic tools (INKA Embedded)" aims at the transfer of the acquired knowledge and results from the InnoProfile project INKA from 2008 to 2013 in the areas of imaging, interventions, microsystems and production for the economic implementation of the results in close cooperation with regional partners.

The focus is in the fields of production of extruded function carriers, the integration of mechanical and electrical components as well as of the functionalization of materials and surfaces for "intelligent catheters".

Through a joint processing, the innovation capacity of the regional economy shall be increased and the entry into new, attractive and future-oriented markets shall be facilitated for the companies.

This will also strengthen the bond of regional industry and the universities.

The aim is to jointly create – at the example of a functional catheter for local cooling - the modular assembly of multifunctional diagnostic and therapeutic tools as a basis for sustainable products.
