Am Donnerstag, dem 11.10.2018 findet im Guericke Zentrum (ehemals Lukasklause) ab 15.30 Uhr das STIMULATE-Kolloquium statt.
Vortragender:
Y. Li, Ph.D., Neoscan Solutions GmbH
Vortragstitel:
"Superconducting magnet technology and application"
Abstract:
Owing to superconducting magnet's features in carrying larger current without heat loss, steady high magnetic field can be realized and it brought us many applicaitons: large scale scientific applications like nuclear fusion facility, high energy accelerator, etc; novel electrical technologies like magnetic levitation system, superconducting transformer, etc.; biochemical and medical applications like NMR and MRI, etc.
To fabricate a superconducting magnet involes eletromagnetic optimization of the magnet, cryogenic system design with high current input and high magnetic field, superconducting quench simulation and protection, etc.
CV:
Dr. Li completed his undergraduate studies at Fudan University, China. In 2013 he obtained his Ph.D. in Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a graduate student in the lab, Dr. Li focused on the superconducting magnet technology espcially in applications of high strength and high homogeneouse field MRI/NMR system, compact and cryogen free superconducting magnet system, and new generation of high temperature superconducting magnet system.
Dr. Li is currently working in the Neoscan-Solutions GmbH in close cooperation with the research campus STIMULATE. The company focuses on the development of special MRIs for children and infants with compact high temperature superconducting magnet.
Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen.
