Consistency - Theory and Application
Abstract
Redundancies in a measurement process can be exploited to correct errors within the measured data. Particularly in computed tomography (CT), so-called data consistency conditions (DCCs) derived from the linear acquisition model of CT are used to compensate for several artifacts, e.g. patient motion, beam-hardening, scatter radiation, misalignment (calibration), truncation and dead detector pixels. This session will give a short introduction into DCCs with main focus on a relatively young DCC based on Grangeat's relation. Furthermore, two applications will be presented: rigid motion compensation and beam-hardening correction
