Nach einer Corona-bedingten Zwangspause von 2 Jahren konnte die sonst alljährliche, winterliche Harzwanderung am 06.02.23 endlich wieder stattfinden. Anstatt der üblichen Brockenbesteigung wurden dieses Mal jedoch neue Wege beschritten.
Mit einer Gruppe von 12 STIMULATE-Kolleg:innen ging es zunächst mit der Harzer Schmalspurbahn zum Bahnhof „Drei Annen Hohne“ und von dort aus knapp 15 km über verschneite Wege und teils eisige Felspassagen an Trudenstein, Leistenklippe und Ottofels vorbei. Eine Stärkung gab es im Waldgasthaus Steinerne Renne bevor es schließlich zurück nach Wernigerode ging.
Herzlicher Dank gilt Thomas Schindler und Richard Bismark für die Organisation der Route und der Anfahrt sowie die Navigation unterwegs. Wir freuen uns bereits auf die nächste Wanderung, bei der es dann wieder auf den Brockengipfel gehen soll.

STIMULATE hikes in the Harz Mountains
After a Corona-related forced break of 2 years, the otherwise annual winter hike in the Harz Mountains could finally take place again on 02.06.23. Instead of the usual Brocken climb, however, new paths were taken this time.
With a group of 12 STIMULATE-colleagues we first went with the Harz narrow-gauge railroad to the station "Drei Annen Hohne" and from there we walked about 15 km over snow-covered paths and partly icy rock passages past Trudenstein, Leistenklippe and Ottofels. Refreshments were served at the Steinerne Renne forest inn before finally returning to Wernigerode.
Many thanks to Thomas Schindler and Richard Bismark for the organization of the route and the journey as well as the navigation on the way. We are already looking forward to the next hike, which will again take us to the summit of the Brocken.
