Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Interventionelle Radiologie und minimal-invasive Therapie (DeGIR) führt seit Oktober 2022 Simulatorkurse für interventionelle Radiolog:innen am Forschungscampus STIMULATE durch. Dank modernster Technik, die sich am Forschungscampus bietet, erleben und erlernen unerfahrene und fortgeschrittene Radiolog:innen hautnah interventionelle Radiologie.
Angeleitet werden die Workshops durch ausgewiesene Expert:innen aus ganz Deutschland, darunter auch Prof. Dr. Maciej Pech vom Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg, der die DeGIR auf STIMULATE aufmerksam machte und so die Veranstaltung in den Magdeburger Wissenschaftshafen holte. Während des Simulatorkurses werden den Radiolog:innen in praktischen Hands-on-Workshops Themen wie Indikation, Kontraindikation, Ergebnisse und mögliche Komplikationen bei Behandlungen von Stenosen oder auch der Myelomembolisation und Prostataembolisation sowie die Blutungslokalisation erläutert. Unterstützt wird der Kurs durch die LIAM GmbH.
Die DeGIR schätzt an STIMULATE für die Kursdurchführung vor allem, dass „der methodische Schwerpunkt des Forschungscampus auf bildgesteuerten minimal-invasiven Verfahren liegt und damit der perfekte Ort für das Simulatortraining ist. Insbesondere für Interventionalist:innen ist dies eine Reise wert“.

STIMULATE is official training center of the DeGIR
The German Society for Interventional Radiology and Minimally Invasive Therapy (DeGIR) has been conducting simulator courses for interventional radiologists at the research campus STIMULATE since October 2022. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology available at the research campus, inexperienced and advanced radiologists can experience and learn interventional radiology first-hand.
The workshops are led by renowned experts from all over Germany, including Prof. Dr. Maciej Pech from Magdeburg University Hospital, who brought STIMULATE to the attention of DeGIR and thus brought the event to Magdeburg's Port of Science. During the simulator course, practical hands-on workshops will explain to the radiologists topics such as indication, contraindication, results and possible complications in treatments of stenoses or myeloma embolization and prostate embolization as well as bleeding localization. The course is supported by LIAM GmbH.
The DeGIR particularly appreciates the fact that "the methodological focus of the research campus is on image-guided minimally invasive procedures, which makes it the perfect place for simulator training. For interventionalist:s in particular, this is well worth the trip."
