Abstract:
Discussion/Conclusion: The reduction of distance improves the homogeneity as can be seen in fig.2 and the resulting surface extraction in fig.3. It can be hypothesized that better results can be achieved by further lowering distance or changing other parameters (i.e. stop criterion, number of iterations). However, both would result in longer processing time. In summary, best results have been achieved by utilizing the inhomogeneity correction by division, followed by applying the N3 algorithm using a distance of 15 and FWHM of 0.15.
